Saturday, July 31st, 2010

As you know, metal domes have dimple and without dimples two kinds, many customers don’t know why there is an dimple in the metal domes. OK, Let me explain the more details about the dimple domes features today:

First, It can increase the travel;
Secondly, it’s with better click feeling than without one;
Third, It has the better dust-prood effect;
Last, whether it’s with better conduction, there is no data to verify.

I think you are clear about the function of dimple in metal domes. In fact, which kind you will use, it’s depending on your design.

The function of EMI on metal dome array

Tuesday, July 27th, 2010

As you know for EMI dome array, there is an EMI layer on the top of metal dome array. So what’s the function of EMI? OK, follow me:

EMI dome array is that there is a sliver paste is printed on the top layer as ESD (electrostatic Discharge Control). It can help to reduce the electrostatic which maybe hamful to the other parts inside of the mobile phone, and to protect the product.There are also two “contact eyes”(we named) to let me electrostatic run way. The contact resistance can reduce to less than three ohm.

This item are mostly used in our china marketing, and used in the cellphone products. Do you need the dome array made into EMI? Please contact us for your required.

Do you know the snap dome specifications before you purchase? Ok, if not, please follow me to know what you should to be known:

1. Snap dome material: our stainless steel of metal domes are made from type 301 SUS. We purchase the material from USA and Japan.
2. Material thickness: Normally, the thickness is 0.06mm, 0.08mm, 1.0mm, 1.2mm.
3. Click ratio of the metal dome: CC: Click Ratio; CP: Compression Peak Force; CL: Compression Low Force; RL: Release Low Force; RP: Compression Peak Force
CC(%)=(CP-CL)/CP x 100%, it’s normally between 35% and 60%.
4. Height: The height is equal the stoke + thickness of the metal dome.
5. Life Expectancy: Life cycles of our metal domes are from 10,000 to 100,000 times.
6. Platings: There are three types for plating: Nickel plating, silver plating and gold plating are available.
7. Usages: Metal domes are widely use in the swithces, such as the phone, Mp3, Mp4, Microwave oven, toys, remoted controller, and Medical equioments, and etc..

Tuesday, July 20th, 2010

What kind of metal dome suitable for the pcb as switch? All of metal domes are suitable, the answer.

Such as the pcb for membrane switches, the fou-leg metal dome is very popular, it’s with good click feeling. How about the cellphone? As there is not enought space, so the circle metal dome is most used.

BTW, we also have the sister company to manufacture the pritned circuit boards. We can assemble the dome array with the pcb together, one step service, save your costing.
