What is the EMI?

Electromagnetic Compatibility for short EMC, is an electronic device that is neither interfere with other equipment, but also not influence from other devices. Electromagnetic compatibility likes the same of the security as we know, is the most important quality indicators. Safety involving personal and property, but electromagnetic compatibility are related to personal and environmental protection.
The phenomenon of electromagnetic waves make the function with the electronic components , known as EMI (Electro magnetic Interference). For example, TV screen with “snow”, it said received signal is interference.

EMI Dome Array is the metal domes with top printed layer of EMI, most used in keys pad and cell phone, to reduce electromagnetic interference, increase product safety.

Dome sheet size and tolerance

Some people may are not very understanding the max size and tolerance of dome sheet, I explain more detial as below:

1, The max. size of dome sheet can do 90*90mm by laser cutting, for larger it should be set up tooling. Because of the high cost of mold, many customers do not understand, in fact, that’s the cost of the mold. If customers really do not want to set up model, it’s the best to be divided into two parts,the effect is the same, but when the assembly is divided into two times only.
2, Dome sheet tolerance, the laser cutting is: +/-0.15-0.20mm; the mold: +/-0.10mm.

Dome sheet venting

The movement of air is called “venting” and is important for dome sheet functions work properly. If Lack of venting can cause adverse affects on the feel and function of the switch. While venting is not absolutely necessary for every application, it is desirable in almost all applications. When the metal dome is depressed, air is trapped underneath it. To avoid compressing the air under the metal dome when actuated, it is recommended that a vent channel be present for dome sheet.
The venting of the dome sheet can be achieved a number of different ways. Some Examples: a.) vent channel can go from dome to dome via a spacer layer b.) dome arrays can be top vented through the polyester material c.) vent channel can go through the pcb board.

At last, not properly venting of the dome sheet will result in significant loss of tactile response. If you need further information,please contact us.

Individual Dome Array Specifications

What is the individual dome array? This is just one metal dome is attached to a square of PET adhesive tap. We also called”Standard One Key Metal Dome Array“. This is commonly used in only one button switch.

We have the individual dome array includes the following types of specifications:

Of course, these size of the one key dome array is a standard specification, but it also can be the appropriate adjusted according requirements of customers. but one thing is need to ensure there is enough glue around the dome array to paste it firmly above the PCB board.
